Terms of Use
Last updated: November 5, 2026
These terms cover Tiny Rivals and this website, both made by Cedarstep Studios LLC, a Virginia company ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them, so please read them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.
Who can play
Tiny Rivals is made for a general audience and isn't directed at children. You must be 13 or older to play. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian needs to agree to these terms for you. Prize tournaments are for players 18 or older, and each tournament's official rules say who else can enter.
Your account
- The app makes a guest account for you the first time you open it. Sign in with Apple to enter tournaments or to keep your progress on a new phone.
- Your account is for you only. Don't sell, share or transfer it, and don't use anyone else's.
- You're responsible for what happens on your account, so keep your phone and Apple ID secure.
Player names
Other players see your player name, so pick one that's fine for everyone: no hate, harassment, sexual content, contact details, or pretending to be someone else or us. We may change or remove a name that breaks these rules.
Bolts
- Earned, never bought. You earn Bolts by playing, and by watching an optional ad where we offer one. Bolts can never be bought.
- No cash value. Bolts aren't money or property. They can't be cashed out, sold, traded or moved to another account.
- Spending them. You can spend Bolts in the Wardrobe and on tournament entries. Spent Bolts aren't returned, except when a tournament is cancelled.
- Our rules. We may change how Bolts are earned or used, fix balances that are wrong because of a bug, and remove Bolts gained by cheating.
- When an account ends, its Bolts end with it.
Tournaments
Tournaments are optional. Each one has its own official rules, in the app, which say who can enter, when it runs, how winners are decided and what they win. By entering, you agree to those rules, and where they differ from these terms, they apply to that tournament.
- No purchase necessary. Entry takes Bolts, which you earn by playing. The entry fee is taken once, and refunded if a tournament is cancelled.
- One try per round. Win to go on, lose and you're out. Everyone in a round plays under the same rules, and Bolts never buy extra tries or better odds.
- Skill decides. Our servers check every prize score. We may remove results or disqualify players for cheating, collusion, using more than one account, or breaking these terms or the official rules.
- Prizes. What a tournament's winners get, and how it reaches them, is set out only in its official rules. Nothing in these terms promises a prize, a way of paying it or a time frame.
- Changes. Where the official rules or the law allow, we may change, pause or cancel a tournament, for example because of technical problems or cheating.
- Apple is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, any contest or prize.
Play fair
You agree not to:
- cheat, or use hacks, mods, bots or anything that plays for you or gives you an unfair edge;
- use bugs to get ahead (please report them to us instead);
- fix matches or tournaments with other players, or use more than one account;
- harass, threaten or bully other players, or pretend to be someone else;
- tamper with the app, its traffic or our servers, or copy, modify or resell the app, except where the law allows it;
- use the app for anything illegal.
If you do, we may warn you, change your name, remove Bolts, items or results, disqualify you from tournaments, or suspend or close your account.
Other players
We don't control what other players do, but we act on reports. You can report or block any player from their player card, and unblock them in Settings.
Ads
After a win you can choose to watch a short ad for extra Bolts. Ads are always optional. The Privacy Policy explains what our ad partner may collect.
Our game, your licence
The app, its games, characters, art, sounds and names belong to Cedarstep Studios or the people who license them to us. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own fun, under these terms. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
Changes to the game
We keep improving Tiny Rivals, so games, features, items and tournaments may change, arrive or go. Online play needs a connection and our servers, which may sometimes be down. If we ever stop running the game or its online features, we'll say so in the app or on this site first where we can.
Ending your account
You can delete your account any time: in the app, go to Profile, tap the settings gear, then Delete account. It's permanent, and your Bolts, Wardrobe, ranks, record and tournament entries go with it. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the official rules, or when the law requires it. Bolts and items have no cash value, so nothing is paid out when an account ends.
No guarantees
We work hard on the app, but it's provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we don't promise it will always be available or free of bugs, or that progress or results will never be lost.
Our liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, Bolts, items or results, and our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to US$50. This limit doesn't reduce a prize you've won under a tournament's official rules, and it doesn't take away rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Virginia and the United States. Disputes go to the courts in Virginia, unless the law where you live lets you use your local courts. If something goes wrong, email us first: most things can be sorted out quickly.
If you got the app from Apple
- These terms are between you and Cedarstep Studios only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence covers Apple devices you own or control, as Apple's Usage Rules allow, including use by other accounts through Family Sharing or volume purchasing. If these terms conflict with those Usage Rules, the Usage Rules apply.
- We alone are responsible for maintaining and supporting the app. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it.
- If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid, if any. As far as the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claims about warranties are our responsibility.
- We, not Apple, handle any claims about the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it breaks a law or regulation, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If anyone claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you're not in a country under a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you're not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile carrier's.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll also tell you in the app. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the new terms.
